Different from a regular blanket
Yoga and meditation blankets serve a specific posture-support role — they're folded under hips, draped during savasana, used as a bolster substitute. The fabric needs to be heavier and denser than a casual throw (so it holds its shape when folded) and absorbent enough to handle a sweaty practice.
Our default yoga spec: cotton-blend woven fabric, 380–450 GSM, 200×150 cm format. Often a jacquard stripe woven into the fabric in calming earth tones — sage, terracotta, oat, charcoal. Edges are double-fold-stitched, not satin-bound, for a more grounded feel.
Materials we use
- Cotton-acrylic blend (typically 70/30) — the workhorse yoga blanket fabric, durable, washable, holds shape when folded.
- GOTS organic cotton (on request) — for wellness brands that need certified organic chain-of-custody.
- Wool blend for premium retreat-shop programs — heavier, more grounding feel, wool absorbs moisture well during sweaty practice.
- Recycled cotton blend — for sustainability-positioned brands; we can certify GRS chain-of-custody.
Decoration
Most yoga brands prefer subtle, calming branding: a small woven label in the corner, a low-contrast embroidered sanskrit symbol or wordmark, or no visible logo at all (with branding only on the hangtag). Sublimation print is rare — it doesn't match the calming aesthetic most wellness brands cultivate.
