Our 4-step quality process
- 1 · Material & design verification
- Incoming fabric checked for GSM/weight, composition, color vs. approved Pantone/lab-dip, and hand-feel before cutting. Tech pack and artwork re-confirmed.
- 2 · First-article / sample inspection
- A pre-production sample is approved against the spec — size, construction, edge finish, branding placement — before bulk starts.
- 3 · In-process quality control
- Line checks during cutting, sewing/binding, lamination and decoration to catch stitch, alignment and print defects early.
- 4 · Final inspection & documentation
- Pre-shipment inspection to an agreed AQL with a written report, photos, measurements and packing verification before the container ships.
For the buyer-side detail, see our guide to blanket quality control & pre-shipment inspection (AQL).
Tests we run (by what they catch)
| Test / check | Standard reference | What it catches |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric weight (GSM) | Gravimetric | Thin / out-of-spec fabric, cost substitution |
| Pilling resistance | ISO 12945 (Martindale) | Fleece that pills after washing |
| Colorfastness — rubbing | AATCC 8 / ISO 105-X12 (crocking) | Color transfer on dark/printed goods |
| Colorfastness — wash | ISO 105-C06 | Fading / bleeding after laundering |
| Seam / tensile strength | ASTM D5034 | Weak seams, binding failure |
| Hydrostatic / waterproofing | For PEVA/PU/TPU backing | Backing that lets ground moisture through |
| Dimensions & squareness | Measured vs. tech pack | Oversize/undersize, skew after wash |
Which tests apply depends on the product and destination market. We agree the test plan and AQL with you before production.
Certifications & compliance
We can run programs against common buyer requirements — OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, GRS for recycled content, BSCI social audit and others. Test reports and certificates are available on request for a given order/material.
Documentation you receive
- Pre-shipment inspection report (with photos & measurements)
- AQL result summary
- Material specification / composition sheet
- Test reports for the agreed tests (on request)
- Packing list & carton/label verification
FAQ
What AQL do you inspect to?
We agree the AQL with you before production — a common default is 2.5 for major and 4.0 for minor defects, but we set it to your requirement and market.
Can I use my own third-party inspector (SGS, BV, Intertek)?
Yes. We routinely support third-party and customer inspections at the factory before shipment and will book and host the inspection.
Do you provide test reports and certificates?
Yes, on request for the specific order and material — e.g. composition, colorfastness, pilling, and certification documents where the material is certified. We do not display certificate badges we cannot back with a valid certificate.
How do you keep the 5,000th piece matching the sample?
An approved first-article sample is the reference; in-process line checks plus a final AQL inspection against that sample control drift in color, size and construction.
